Executes multiple runs for stellar population analysis based on specified parameters and evolutionary tracks. Handles extinction correction, color and magnitude uncertainty calculations, parameter assignment, and red-excess probability computation.

Parameters:
  • sources (astropy.table.Table) – Input catalog of stellar objects containing observational data, such as magnitudes and parallaxes.

  • vals (list of float, optional) – Values for parameters of interest, e.g., age and metallicity. Defaults to [5, 0].

  • params (tuple of str, optional) – Parameter names corresponding to the values in vals. Defaults to (“age”, “mh”).

  • track_type (str, optional) – Type of evolutionary track to use. Default is “isotrack”.

  • assign_param (str or None, optional) – Parameter to be assigned based on evolutionary tracks. Defaults to “mass”.

  • get_excess (str or None, optional) – Side of isochrone to calculate excess probability for. Default is None.

  • suffix (str, optional) – Suffix for output file names. Defaults to an empty string.

  • is_save (bool, optional) – Whether to save the output to a file. Default is True.

  • color_filter1 (str, optional) – Filter name for the first photometric band used in color calculations. Default is “G_BPmag”.

  • color_filter2 (str, optional) – Filter name for the second photometric band used in color calculations. Default is “G_RPmag”.

  • mag_filter (str, optional) – Filter name for the magnitude band for absolute magnitude calculations. Default is “Gmag”.

  • is_extrapolate (bool, optional) – Whether to extrapolate beyond the provided track data when computing isochrones. Default is True.

  • rbf_func (str, optional) – Radial basis function type for interpolation when using “rbf” method. Default is “linear”.

  • output_type (str, optional) – Format of the output file. Default is “csv”.

  • output_path (str, optional) – Path to save the output files. Defaults to an empty string (current directory).

  • csv_format (str, optional) – Format used for saving numerical data in CSV files. Default is “%.8f”.

  • n_realizations (int, optional) – Number of realizations for Monte Carlo simulations in parameter assignment or excess probability computations. Default is 10.

  • interp_fun (str, optional) – Interpolation function for parameter assignment. Default is “rbf”.

  • models (str or object) – Path to evolutionary track data or preloaded model data. Default is ‘./PARSEC/’.

  • correct_extinction (bool, optional) – Whether to apply extinction correction to color and magnitude data. Default is True.

  • reddening_key (str, optional) – Key in sources for stellar reddening data. Default is “av”.

  • color_excess_key (str, optional) – Key in sources for color excess data. Default is “e_bv”.

  • use_reddening_key (bool, optional) – Whether to interpret reddening_key or use the color_excess_key directly for extinction correction. Default is True.

  • kwargs (dict, optional) – Additional keyword arguments passed to underlying functions for isochrone calculation, parameter assignment, or extinction correction.

Returns:

output – Output list containing results from parameter assignment and/or excess probability calculation. The structure of output depends on the parameters provided: - If assign_param is not None, returns its mean and error. - If get_excess is not None, includes the excess probability.

Return type:
